First Choice records 100,000th web booker

First Choice has announced its 100,000th online booking.

The figure represents the number of bookings made on the First Choice and Air 2000 websites since launch in January 2001. It says that 85% of bookings are now made online.

A spokesperson told TravelMole: “Although 15% are still making bookings over the phone, I think a large proportion of these have researched their holiday online, but still want to speak to a person before actually making the booking”.

First Choice Group, head of e-commerce, Alun Williams said: “This channel is an integral component of First Choice’s distribution strategy and we’re now realising the true potential of e-commerce within travel”.

First Choice launched late availability holidays online in April. It is expected to announce further e-commerce developments soon.
