First hunting lodge to open in UAE
The United Arab Emirates will open its first hunting resort near Al Ain in September.
The Barari Hunting Resort will offer guests the chance to hunt oryx, gazelle and deer,
Tarek Elsherif, managing director of Mourouj Hotels and Resorts said: "It will be prearranged hunting in coordination with the UAE Environment [Agency] and it will of course take into account safety and security."
Mourouj hopes that hunters who normally holiday in Africa or Asia will consider the UAE instead.
A one-night stay with a hunting excursion is expected to cost upwards of US$3,673.
The property will be open on a seasonal basis, from September to April.
"It’s going to be an exclusive resort for people looking to hunt, so it is not going to be like a family resort," said Elsherif.
