Five stars in Cuba
Cuba is finally getting its first five-star hotel.
The 96-room Hotel Saratoga in Havana opened its doors after a total reconstruction.
The hotel has five floors that include seven suites decorated in a mix of contemporary and colonial styles with touches of Art Deco.
The hotel faces the Capitolio and is a short walk from the historic Opera House. The hotel near the Old City, la Habana Vieja, has panoramic views over Havana’s skyline.
Habaguanex S.A., which promotes tourism in Havana’s historic district, is offering various new packages including one for honeymooners. It includes restaurant discounts and attraction tickets.
The hotel is being jointly run by the One and Only brand by Habaguanex S.A. and the Bahaman group Kennell International.
The refurbished hotel was famous in the 1930s as a favorite haunt of artists and socialites from all over the world.
