NRMA CEO Tony Stuart said the NRMA, via its new travel company Adventure World Travel acquired in January the organisation had also now secured a 100 per cent shareholding in specialist South Pacific travel company Coral Seas Travel.
“This is a significant boost to the NRMA’s travel operations, which have grown substantially to provide even more holiday choices for our two million members,” Mr Stuart said.
“Coral Seas Travel has been operating successfully since 1995 and offers tailor-made holiday packages to the tropical islands of the South Pacific.” “It will continue to distribute its productsto more than 1,000 retail travel agents around Australia under the Coral Seas name.”
“This new investment follows our recent purchase of Australian and New Zealand based travel wholesaler, Adventure World Travel, and means we can package an even more diverse range of travel products for the benefit of our members.”
“Along with our recent investments in Thrifty car rental and five holiday parks across NSW, this latest acquisition puts the NRMA in a good position to provide its members with a wide array of tailored products and services in the travel and touring sector.”
“We have responded to our members who have asked for more products and services to complement their road service membership, especially in to the areas of holiday leisure and travel.”
Mr Stuart said the NRMA had also recently bought the popular monthly car magazine Australian Classic Car, adding, “We had the chance to secure a well-established and profitable publication that would interest many of our members who are car enthusiasts,” Mr Stuart said.
“Australia’s premier classic car magazine was established in 1993 and offers news and features on classic cars, their owners and motor sport.”
“The publication will sit alongside our recently launched Caravan+RV magazine and the NRMA’s Open Road and will offer tangible benefits to NRMA members such as discounted subscriptions.”
“NRMA will continue to look at new ventures that broaden our motoring and travel services.”
