Flight attendants attack passenger
Normally, it is passengers who are accused of air rage and attacking flight attendants – but quite the opposite happened on a plane in Russia.
Two stewards beat up a traveller and left him with a black eye after he claimed they were drunk and not doing their job properly.
The incident took place on an Aeroflot flight from Moscow to the city of Nizhnevartovsk in Siberia, according to the BBC.
Aeroflot said the crew, contracted out from another company, had been suspended while the incident was investigated and a spokeswoman said the airline was now tightening controls over contracted staff.
The BBC said reports in the Russian media claimed the cabin attendants on the flight were “heavily intoxicated”. The stewards distributed in-flight meals only when the plane started its descent, and managed to spill large quantities of food on the floor, it was claimed.
One passenger said: “Only about half the meals ended up on the tables or in the laps of passengers, the rest ended up on the floor. We left the plane with lunch-boxes crunching beneath our feet.”
