Flight Centre acquires Canadian travel tech company Unmapped
Flight Centre Travel Group has announced yet another acquisition.
It will take 100% ownership of Umapped, a Toronto-based travel tech company.
Umapped provides a range of tech tools to streamline travel agent-customer interaction such as chat services, documentation and real-time updates.
Some of Umapped’s products are already being used by Flight Centre’s US wholesale business and will be rolled out globally as part of Flight Centre’s digital transformation strategy.
"We have been impressed with the platform and believe it can have a positive impact on our consultants’ productivity and on our customers’ travel experiences," said Flight Centre Travel Group CEO Graham Turner.
Umapped’s product portfolio includes the Trip Publisher itinerary builder and the TripLinQ API tool, which curates content, real-time location data and bookings within a single interface.
