Flight Centre backs emissions offsetting

Monday, 03 Aug, 2007 0

Flight Centre is the latest travel company to be encouraging customers to offset their flight emissions.

The 100-branch high street agency chain is supporting Climate Care, a service that helps people and organisations repair their damage to the environment.

The company has created a ticket insert to go into every ticket wallet with information on Climate Care. A web page link from the Flight Centre home page enables customers to calculate the cost to offset their flight.

All staff are also being recommended to offset their work and personal travel.

Managing director Chris Galanty said: “We feel it’s very important for us to make our customers aware of such initiatives and give them the opportunity to help address climate change, should they wish to do so.

“Our sales consultants also feel very strongly about these issues and have been keen for us to work with an agency such as Climate Care. They will be helping to make this a success and to encourage as many people as possible to offset their flight.”
