Flight Centre has replaced a ‘Low Price Promise’ with a ‘Fly For Free’ guarantee.
The aim is to cement the agency group’s position as the price leader within the UK travel market.
The company said that if a customer can find a scheduled air fare cheaper elsewhere then it will cover the cost of that fare, excluding charter and no-frill carriers such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Flybe, Aer Lingus and Monarch.
The company, which has 115 UK outlets, will ensure that its air fares will be “at least equivalent” to alternative offers found on the web (UK based) or via other UK travel agents for all air fares, including specials offered direct by an airline, student tickets and round-the-world combinations.
The guarantee applies when Flight Centre can confirm the fare is still available to be booked in the same cabin class as quoted by the competitor.
Head of marketing Steve Norris said: “We are so confident we offer the best value deals in the UK that we are prepared to put our money where our mouth is.
“If we can’t find a cheaper air fare – we’ll give customers the air fare for free. Add this to our Perfect Holiday Pledge and we’re convinced that we provide the best value holidays and customer service in the country.”
The ‘Perfect Holiday Pledge’ was introduced in December. Any customers who are not 100% satisfied with their holiday will be given £100 towards their next holiday booking with the agency.
