Flight Centre launches UK call centre
Flight Centre has poached an ebookers executive to head its UK call centre.
David Howells was with ebookers for nine years, where he worked his way up from consultant to call centre manager in charge of 80 staff.
In his new role at Flight Centre, Mr Howells will oversee the launch of the New Malden-based centre, which will have 20 staff by the end of March 2005. He will report to UK e-commerce director, Brett Warbrick
The call centre staff will take bookings out of shop hours and will act as sales support for Flight Centre’s high street consultants, as well as dealing with enquiries that come in by email. If business takes off, Flight Centre hopes to extend its call centre team by the end of the year to around 50 staff.
