Flight Centre takes control of Quebec agency
Flight Centre Travel Group has again been on the acquisition trail.
It has taken full ownership of Quebec based leisure and corporate travel firm Les Voyages Laurier du Vallon.
It exercised an option to take over the business after buying a 75% stake in LDV two years ago.
"In leisure travel, LDV’s premium offering, which is similar to the highly successful Travel Associates model we use in some countries, has complemented the Flight Centre branded offering in Canada," said FLT managing director Graham Turner.
LDV has been established since the 1960s and is one of the largest independent agencies in Quebec.
It has offices in Quebec City and Montreal and luxury leisure travel accounts for about half of sales volume.
Flight Centre recently took 100% ownership of European corporate travel business 3Mundi, and acquired a strategic 25% interest in Upside Travel earlier this year.
Its corporate travel management network now spans more than 90 countries.
