Floating Siestas in Mexico
One week siestas along the Mexican Riviera on Princess Cruises’ big floating resorts are available from A$849 per person next year.
The new low fare will give sombrero-capped Australians more pesos to enjoy the tequilas, margaritas, sun-drenched beaches, colourful culture and balmy weather that make the Mexican Riviera one of the most glamorous destinations on Earth.
The oldest and biggest operator of cruises on Mexico’s west coast, Princess Cruises will offer Australians a choice of seven or 11-night round cruises from California to Mexico from September 2006 to April 2007.
The seven-night itinerary from Los Angeles aboard the region’s biggest liner, the huge 2670-passenger Diamond Princess will take sunseekers to the cobblestoned streets of Puerto Vallarta, the beach resorts of Mazatlan and the lively salsa beats of sultry Cabo San Lucas.
The extended 11-night option aboard the 1950-passenger Dawn Princess sails from San Francisco and follows the same itinerary, but with the addition of sunny Ixtapa and Acapulco – famous for its daredevil cliff divers.
These exotic ports became international household names when they were featured on the hit TV show ‘The Love Boat’, which was filmed aboard Princess’ liners in the 1970s.
Dawn Princess and Diamond Princess both offer hundreds of romantic balcony cabins as well as multiple pools, jacuzzis and bars, sprawling sun decks and a flexible ‘Personal Choice’ dining program that allows passengers to dine when they want and with whom they want.
Fares, including all main meals and entertainment, start from A$849 per person for the seven-night cruise and from A$1409 for the 11-night voyage. *
