Florida Attorney General investigating NCL’s ‘disturbing’ coronavirus sales pitch
Florida’s Attorney General plans to investigate claims Norwegian Cruise Lines misled customers over the health risks of coronavirus on cruise ships.
Ashley Moody will probe allegations NCL gave inaccurate answers in respond to customer concerns downplaying the risks.
The AG’s office said a whistle blower claimed employees were coached to say ‘the coronavirus can only survive in cold temperatures, so the Caribbean is a fantastic choice for your next cruise,’ among other misleading statements.
"My consumer protection division is conducting an extensive investigation to get to the bottom of the disturbing allegations against Norwegian Cruise Lines. Let this serve as a warning to anyone seeking to mislead consumers during these challenging times," Moody said.
The investigation has only just begun and the cruise line is fully cooperating.
