Florida back in business
Visit Florida says all of the state’s major metropolitan areas are “open for business and welcoming visitors” following the devastating Hurricane Charlie.
The state’s marketing organization said there were some downed trees, power outages and minor beach erosion where the storm made landfall north of Naples and Marco Island.
The Orlando/Orange County and Osceola County areas are open and operating with a few exceptions due to water and/or landscaping damage.
The areas most seriously impacted by the storm included Lee County, where businesses in Fort Myers, Sanibel and Captiva had storm damage.
All airports are open, as are all major cruise ports, according to Visit Florida.
