Florida Citrus Sports Announces the 28th Annual Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade
Throughout the past 29 years, the Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade presented by Delta Air Lines has grown from a local event into an annual extravaganza, drawing crowds of up to 85,000 and television viewers in the millions via an internationally-syndicated broadcast.
Distinguished by floats made from over 100,000 pieces of citrus, the parade is recognized as one of the nation’s largest sports-affiliated parades, making it a unique experience for families and a beacon of community spirit. This year’s parade takes place on Tuesday, December 30, 2008, and will once again welcome Chris Harrison as this year’s co-host for the event.
To find your local listing for the parade, please go to www.orlandocitrusparade.com. Grandstands will be located at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando which will also be the site of the parade’s television broadcast.
The parade will be one of three FCSports signature events taking place over a span of six days that are ideal for group events. Just days before step-off of the parade, the Champs Sports Bowl kicks off at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium (Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008 at 4:30 p.m.). Then just 48 hours after the parade ends, the Capital One Bowl rings in the new year (Thursday, Jan. 1, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.). Official team bands from schools participating in both games will perform in the parade.
Along with these great events, there are numerous other reasons to visit Orlando. Orlando lies in the heart of Central Florida and millions of visitors a year flock to this growing metropolis to enjoy its recreation and entertainment. Today Orlando boasts more theme parks than any other single city in the world. Orlando also features a wealth of dining, shopping, exciting shows and nightlife to please any age while boasting a collection of some of the finest golf courses in the world.
