Florida signs rapper as tourism ambassador
Destination marketing agency Visit Florida is keen to make sweet music with rapper Pitbull after signing up the artist as a state tourism ambassador.
During Pitbull’s upcoming concerts worldwide, Visit Florida’s #LoveFL hashtag will be featured on video screens including at his New Year’s Eve concert in Miami, which will be aired on the Fox TV network.
Pitbull, Armando Christian P-©rez, is a Miami native with Cuban roots and as part of the partnership with Visit Florida, will film the video for the single ‘Sexy Beaches’ in Florida.
“Pitbull is certainly ‘Mr. Worldwide,’ but he’s also a native Floridian with a true passion for the Sunshine State,” said Paul Phipps, chief marketing officer for Visit Florida.
“Aligning our two brands not only allows us to have a Florida ambassador who can help tell the authentic story of the state’s diverse travel experiences, but provides us a platform to reach a new generation of travellers through his global fan base.”
Pitbull has an estimated 100 million followers on social media channels.
