Florida tourism continues to buck the trend
The Sunshine State notched an all-time high for second quarter visitation, despite some weakness from overseas.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced 34.4 million people visited the state, a Q2 all-time record.
“Florida continues to lead the way as the nation’s top travel destination,” said DeSantis. “
Visit Florida, said it is made up overwhelmingly of domestic travelers at over 91% of the total.
“Florida’s tourism industry is strong. We are committed to keeping Florida the destination of choice for visitors from across the country and around the world,” said Visit Florida CEO, Brian Griffin.

While international arrivals were up for the quarter, the key Canadian market has plunged by 20%.
