JRR Tolkien fans now have an easier way to get to Middle Earth.

New Zealand-owned airline Fly My Sky is offering two daily flights to Hobbiton from Auckland.

It is launching packages including guided tours to the Hobbiton movie set, which is now New Zealand’s third largest tourism destination.

The daily service flies to Matamata Airport in twin-engine nine-seater Britten Norman Islander aircraft.

"The aircraft, well respected around the world, are known for their great safety record and are a perfect fit for the journey between Auckland and Hobbiton," said Fly My Sky director KeithMcKenzie.

"As a low flying aircraft, passengers can enjoy the sights of the natural New Zealand landscape during their journey. Upon arrival at Matamata Airport, passengers will be taken on a private shuttle to the Hobbiton movie set."

Scheduled flights and tour packages start November 18 and are bookable online on Fly My Sky’s website.
