Flydubai says no plans to acquire bankrupt India airline’s assets
Gulf carrier flydubai has rejected media speculation it intends to take over the assets of bankrupt India airline Go First
It responded to reports that it planned to partner with Busy Bee Airways to acquire the remaining assets of Go First.
Busy Bee reportedly wants to take over Go First’s trademarks, airport slots and other assets.
Busy Bee Airways says it hasn’t been in talks with flydubai.
Still, flydubai hasn’t totally ruled out a collaboration and sees the India market as an important one.
“We are not currently in any discussions for ventures with other airlines. If this changes in the future, an official announcement will be made,” an airline spokesperson said.
A month ago, a bankruptcy court ordered the winding up of Go First, although Busy Bee is still in talks with creditors for the assets.
Busy Bee was founded by Pran Sathiadasan, who is currently an executive at flydubai.
