Focus agents gain fare manipulation application
Corporate and route-specific ‘CAT 35’ air fares will be able to be marked up and manipulated by Advantage business travel agents with technology developed by TelMe Farebase.
The airfares distribution specialist has developed a system for the 90 Focus Partnership independent travel management companies for integrating and marking up the tariffs.
The special fares integration for ticketing is available through Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre.
TelMe Farebase claims full CAT 35 integration into its software for the group’s Focus4Fares fare search system will save agents time by automatically displaying different types available – published fares, scripted nett fares and all CAT fares loaded directly by airlines.
Agents can then complete their booking before the system automatically sends the passenger name record (PNR) to their preferred GDS for ticketing.
Focus4Fares manager Steve Murray said: “This new TelMe application will offer Advantage members a one-stop shop for checking the complete range of fares available instantly. Members will be able to offer their clients a comprehensive choice of airline options and some of the lowest air fares available using this time saving tool.”
TelMe Farebase managing director Peter Muller said: “Our unique price matrix technology allows the TelMe system to not only display CAT 35 fares but also to manage fares by manipulating individual fare mark ups. Naturally, as not all fares are covered by CAT 15, 25 or 35, we retain a full scripting service for complete contracts as well as promotional fares that require a rapid turnaround.”
