Football legend Park Ji Sung appointed AirAsia ambassador
Ex-Manchester United footballer Park Ji Sung has been appointed global ambassador for budget carrier AirAsia.
The appointment was announced by group CEO Tony Fernandes who said he embodied similar qualities of the brand, making him the perfect choice.
"We are the people’s airline, and like Park, we are very approachable.
"That is why he is the right person to be the ambassador. He gives the dream to young kids that one day, they too can play in the Barclays Premier League," Fernandes said.
Park is the most decorated South Korean footballer, appearing in three World Cups and was capped 100 times by his country.
He has previously played for Fernandes’ Queens Park Rangers team and is also a global ambassador for Manchester United.
The appointment was marked with an Airbus A330 featuring the football star and he will also attend events on behalf of the airline.
In addition, AirAsia also launched a limited free seats promotion on Wednesday offering giveaways on all direct flights from South Korea.
