Former firefighter becomes airport boss
Southend Airport’s former head of operations Nathan Deverell has become general manager of Cambridge International Airport.
His key responsibilities will be to oversee all aspects of the airport’s operation including management and planning of resource, supplier services, organisational safety and compliance, to the airport teams ensuring that regulatory oversight is achieved for all areas of the operation.
Deverell began his career as a firefighter in the RAF before moving into firefighter positions at a number of airports including Marshalls Cambridge Airport, Stansted and Heathrow.
Steve Jones, managing director of airport operator Marshall Aviation Services said: "We are thrilled to welcome Nathan to the team. His appointment has come a great time for us and we look forward to using Nathan’s wealth of knowledge and aviation experience here at Cambridge."
Deverell added: "I’m delighted to be joining Cambridge International Airport as general manager, having previously worked as a firefighter for the Marshall Group almost 30 years ago."
