Former Heathrow CEO named as new Etihad boss
A UK defence specialist and former Heathrow Airport CEO Tony Douglas has been made Group CEO of Etihad.
Douglas, who will take up his new role in January, has most recently served as CEO of the UK’s Ministry of Defence equipment and support department.
He was responsible for procuring and supporting all the equipment and services for the British armed forces.
Douglas has also held senior positions with airport operator BAA, where he was managing director of the Heathrow Terminal 5 project as well as CEO of Heathrow Airport.
He was also previously chief operating officer and group chief executive designate of Laing O’Rourke.
Douglas has also held senior positions in the United Arab Emirates, most notably as CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports Company and as CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Company where he was responsible for the successful delivery of Khalifa Port.
