Former Ritz-Carlton President launches new luxury hotel group
Former Ritz-Carlton president and COO Horst Schulze announced the launch this week of the Solis Hotels and Resorts luxury brand, with six properties slated to open through 2008.
Schulze as put together a group of former Ritz-Carlton executives to manage the development and launch of the deluxe hotels in such markets as Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, Phoenix, San Antonio and Frankfurt, Germany.
The Chicago Solis property will open in 2006 with 454 luxury guest rooms and suites. San Antonio and Atlanta are targeted for a mid-to-late 2007 opening with 150-rooms and 144-rooms respectively. Similarly, a 277-room resort in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and a 348-room hotel in Frankfurt.
The last of Solis’ first phase development is a 454 room and suites property across the street from the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, projected to open in early 2008.
