Four major firms establish new Asia hotel supplier alliance
A quartet of major B2B travel platforms in Asia has joined forces to create a major regional hotel distribution player.
The OPP Alliance brings together AntaVaya, Hotelpass Global, Westminster Travel, and WebBeds as the primary coordinator of the alliance.
Each of the firms will manage business in their respective territories across Asia.
AntaVaya will focus on Indonesia, Hotelpass Globa covers South Korea and Japan, Westminster Travel will have overall responsibility for Greater China, and WebBeds in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
"We are aiming to improve the direct relationships with our hotel partners and bring them closer to the action in the world of travel distribution. The alliance’s initial target is to sign up to 2,000 new hotel contracts in the first six months," said Brian Lee, CEO of Hotelpass Global Limited.
The group will share tech resources and best practices, and work to provide one of the most comprehensive integrated hotel content platforms.
"We know from speaking to our hotel partners that one of their major goals is to achieve more widespread distribution more effectively – including penetration into Asia’s emerging markets," said Larry Lo, CEO, Westminster Travel.
The alliance will seek new members in other markets in Asia and beyond, and says each member will have an equal standing within the group, while retaining their own brand identity.
