Four out of 10 agents are home-based, survey says
If you find yourself working from home and booking more river cruises than ever, you are not alone.
The travel agency business is shifting rapidly to home-based agents, with 41% of all agents describing themselves that way, more than any other category, in the new Globus Travel Agent Survey.
Close behind are the "destination specialists," at 39%, and "high-touch service" providers, at 31%.
Fifteen percent define their business as cruise-only.
Meanwhile, 67% of respondents said they have booked a river cruise, up from 57% last year.
More than half of agents (52%) said they are charging service fees.
Results are based on responses by 659 agents.
