Four skiers die in Swiss snow storm
Four skiers have died in the Swiss Alps after being forced to spend the night outdoors when they were caught in a sudden snow storm.
They were part of a large group who were trying to reach the
Vignettes refuge at more than 3,000 metres in the Pigne d’Arolla region.
Three of the skiers died of hypothermia while the fourth is believed to have died from a fall.
A further 10 people were rescued by seven helicopters.
The victims are understood to be from France, Germany and Italy.
Two skiers have also died after going missing in Switzerland on Sunday night, according to the Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten.
