France suspends transit ban for EU-based British nationals
Motorists travelling from the UK to homes in another EU country via France have been given a reprieve.
France scaled back restrictions denying UK citizens from travelling through France to another EU country.
It originally said it was ‘not a compelling reason.’
A British man living in Belgium was stopped recently at Eurotunnel from driving home.
France has now clarified rules, allowing travel by road through France to a home in a third country.
"The French authorities have confirmed that British nationals will face no additional restrictions while travelling through the holiday period," a UK government spokesperson said.
