Fred Olsen forced to cancel cruises due to propeller damage
Propeller damage to Fred Olsen Cruise Lines’ Black Prince has forced the company to cancel two sailings.
Departures due for today and September 23 have been axed due to the damage sustained to the vessel.
The 450-passenger ship was on an estern Mediterranean itinerary from Liverpool which left on September 1 when damage was sustained to its propulsion unit.
The cruise was curtailed in Algeciras in Spain and all passengers were either flown home or transported overland back to the UK following the incident.
Black Prince has had to go into dry dock for repairs, resulting in the cancellation of the September 21 mini-cruise and a second departure two days later.
Fred Olsen said all passengers would receive a full refund and £50 off a future cruise.
