Fred Olsen ships to be reunited for third time

Friday, 21 Feb, 2018 0

Fred. Olsen’s fleet of four ocean cruise ships will be reunited in Funchal in Madeira on April 4, 2020.

The first time the Balmoral, Braemar, Boudicca and Black Watch were together was during Fred. Olsen’s ‘Four Ships in Bergen’ event in summer 2015.

However, they will be reunited again in its ‘Captains in Cadiz’ celebration on September 10 this year.

Fred. Olsen’s third fleet get-together in spring 2020 in Madeira will include a number of celebrations and festivitie on four specially-themed cruise itineraries, which go on general sale tomorrow.

The cruise line is offering free gratuities for the cabin stewardess and waiter on all new bookings made on the four applicable itineraries up to April 30 2018.

MD Mike Rodwell said: "In July 2015, we brought our four ships together for the very first time in Bergen, Norway, and it was one of the most celebrated events that we have held at Fred. Olsen since our inception in 1848.

"To mark our milestone 170th anniversary in 2018, we will be celebrating our ‘Captains in Cadiz’ event in the historic Spanish city of Cadiz this Autumn – so-called because the ships’ captains will be leading on many of the day’s activities.

"To give Fred. Olsen guests a further chance to take part in a fun and lively celebration across the fleet, we have now launched the new ‘Four Fred.s in Funchal’ itineraries, which will be visiting a port that constantly rates as one of the most popular with our guests, and we know that our four ships berthed together will be a truly amazing sight to behold!"
