Frontier launches 10 new routes
After a six-year hiatus low cost carrier Frontier is returning to West Palm Beach with three new routes to Denver, Washington Dulles and Trenton, NJ.
The new flights will begin in the fall with a four times a week service to Denver and DC and three weekly flights to Trenton.
Frontier began daily flights on the West Palm Beach-Denver route back in 2007 but service lasted only five months due to a spike in jet fuel prices.
At the same time, the budget airline announce a total of 10 new services including three routes from St. Louis, and Atlanta, Cancun, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and Milwaukee.
Frontier senior vice president Daniel Shurz says the new flights are part of a strategy to reduce its reliance on traditional hub city Denver, where it faces strong competition from United and Southwest.
The airline is looking at "profitable flying opportunities that are not in Denver and accelerating a process of looking to find other opportunities around the country," Shurz said.
All the new routes will be phased in gradually between October 26 and January 8, 2015.
To celebrate Frontier is offering a flash sale of one-way fares from $39 for flights through March 1, 2015.
The sale is on until August 9 and tickets must be booked on the carrier’s website at FlyFrontier.com.
