Gatwick passengers warned of strike action
Air passengers are being warned to leave extra time to travel to Gatwick today, tomorrow and Friday due to a rail strike.
There will be no Southern trains to Gatwick during the three strike days and the Gatwick Express service between the airport and London Victoria will be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes.
No Gatwick Express trains will run between 10pm and 5am on strike days, however Thameslink services will operate to the airport overnight.
Also, there will be no Gatwick Express service between the airport and Brighton.
Further industrial action by drivers and guards on Southern trains is planned for January 24, 25 and 27.
A message on the Gatwick Airport website says: "The train strikes will increase the number of people driving in the area, so roads are expected to be much busier than usual.
"Please plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of extra time to get to the airport."
