Giving new meaning to going to the dogs

Hotels are increasingly catering to guests’ four-legged friends but perhaps none has gone this far:

—Upon arrival, the hotel’s Service One Team arranges for a complimentary doggy walk by an associate.

—A local guide that includes doggy-friendly restaurants and off-leash dog parks in the area is offered as a welcome amenity.

—Pets also are welcome to dine at the Lobby Bar’s outdoor patio throughout the summer.

—Pets also enjoy gourmet treats from Scraps Dog Bakery.

—Following an afternoon at the park, doggy ice-cream and bottled water await a pet’s return.

—Included in the Pet Amenity Program is a doggy dining table customized for small or large dogs, and a plush dog bed.

All this is offered at the 160-room Pan Pacific Seattle.

Did we forget? The pet’s parent may take advantage of the hotel arranging dog sitting or salon services, as well as special discounts at Scraps located in the 2200 Westlake Plaza, which is an exclusive shopping area.

And PPS: EL AL, Israel’s national airline, says it also loves dogs because it is the only airline with a pet frequent flyer club for travel to Israel. With their Pet Frequent Flier program, pets receive a free trip after traveling on three roundtrip flights within a three-year period.
