Global leading marine and cruise air sea tickets seller chooses GDS……..
Amadeus, a leading global technology partner for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that it has signed an exclusive five-year deal with Global Marine Travel (GMT).
This new partnership will enable GMT which has locations worldwide including Sydney, specialising in special and exlcusive air fares for cruise passengers and ship and yacht crews, to access the Amadeus Selling Platform, a browser-based point-of-sale platform that provides travel agents with a wider selection of flights at the most competitive prices when making customer bookings.
Amadeus Selling Platform’s distribution technology and travel content is designed to help travel agents to increase revenues, work more efficiently and improve customer service.
The flight schedules of more than 790 global airlines are available on the platform, of which 508 are readily saleable.
Three hundred and twelve of these airlines participate at the highest access level that allows travel agents to secure sales in real-time the way they would if they were using the airline’s own system to make bookings.
In addition, 209 airlines update their schedules in Amadeus in real-time, providing travel agents with the most up-to-date and accurate flight information.
Tim Davey, President of GMT, [pictured right with from left: InterArgo General Manager Jo Portugal, GMT President Tim Davey, Amadeus General Manager Albert Villadolid and Amadeus Key Accounts Executive Cathy Olaez ] said, “We are confident that our partnership with Amadeus will create significant value for GMT in terms of streamlining our booking processes, increasing our market share and reaching new customers in Asia.”
In addition, our agents will be able to provide a more comprehensive service to our customers with more options to suit their travel needs,” he said.
In the Philippines, InterArgo PH INC, an IATA accredited travel agency that specializes in marine, off-shore and cruise crew travel solutions, is entering into corporate and leisure travel and will be responsible for quality control on all GMT-issued tickets worldwide. This development will increase InterArgo’s revenue through new global accounts.
Albert Villadolid, General Manager, Amadeus Philippines, commented, “Our state-of-the-art technology, which covers the widest range of both air and non-air services, has made us the partner of choice for many travel companies, including GMT.
Amadeus is delighted to enter into a five-year partnership with GMT and we are committed to help them strengthen their position and grow their business.”
