Google Search makes it easier to book hotels direct by mobile
Google has unveiled new functions for mobile hotel search enabling confirmed bookings direct via Google Search results.
Users can now scroll through search results for hotel content including photos, and then tap through the photos without leaving the search results.
Other filtering parameters like date and price can be applied while bookings can now be made.
Google says users can now toggle more easily between flight and hotels search options with a new interface offering a more intuitive tab layout.
The company recently updated its flight search capabilities.
Search can be conducted based on destination to find the best combined hotel and flight options and the ‘More Destinations’ tab offers other similar nearby recommendations.
The new ‘Your Trips’ function shows up past activity for registered users who booked via Gmail.
"We’re evolving the way our hotel works on smartphones to help users explore options and make decisions on their smallest screens," Google said in a blog post.
"The new hotel search experience includes better price filtering, easier-to-find amenity information and the ability to book right from Google.
