The Great Lakes USA has welcomed three new Preferred Partners into the consortium, bringing the total number to fifteen, and enabling the region to increase its sales and marketing programmes to drive international traffic into the six member states.

The new Preferred Partners are:
Cleveland, Ohio, home to the world famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. With new UK flights going into the city  this year from Wow Air and Icelandair, the city is focusing on the international market
Grand Rapids, Michigan  has trend-setting art, beer, food and music scenes and is the home of Founders Beer (sold in the UK) and the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Michigan’s second most popular tourist attraction
Alton, Illinois, is located on the Mississippi River just above the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and just below the confluence of the Mississippi and Illinois rivers and is truly a "river city" rich in history

Toby McCarrick, Executive Director of Great Lakes USA has said: "2018 has been a great year so far for the Great Lakes USA, with several new flights into the region, making it more accessible and cost effective for the UK traveller. We are working with all of our Preferred Partners to increase our sales/marketing efforts and become even more successful at driving international travel to the Great Lakes states."

The Great Lakes consortium exists to promote international tourism to the area and the current member states are Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. Great Lakes Preferred Partner Programme allows destinations and attractions within each member state to be part of the international tourism effort and participate in sales missions, trainings, roadshows and events.

The new Preferred Partners will be represented at World Travel Market in November.
