Greece to be promoted as year-round destination in UK
Marketing Greece has appointed a London-based PR agency to implement a dedicated public relations and social media strategy as part of its overall launch to the UK market.
The strategy will be rolled out across an 18 month period and will promote Greece as a year-round destination to both the trade and consumers.
Marketing Greece is a private organisation that includes the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and the Association of Greek Advertising Companies.
It says it is cooperating closely with the Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organisation to market Greece overseas.
General manager Iossif Parsalis said, ‘We are very happy to be working with Hills Balfour and feel their experience and expertise in the destination PR and social media realm will help us take Greece to a new level.
"Tourism is a hugely important industry for Greece and we want to ensure that we are 100% committed to putting Greece back on the map and demonstrating to the British that there is always more to discover, whether it be on one of the Greek islands or on the mainland".
"We look forward to working with Hills Balfour to communicate the core brand messages of the destination in order to increase our visitor economy."
