Greek tourism helps Golden Sun customers
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has reportedly states that clients of Golden Sun Holidays and Airglobe Holidays, which have declared bankruptcy, can continue their holidays.
According to the Greek online newspaper Kathimerini, holidaymakers are advised “to accept the reassurance from the guarantor of the tour operator as regards his coverage of the expenses of tourists already in the country until the completion of their planned holidays and their return home, at his expense”.
As reported, the two tour operators are estimated to have sold about 200,000 packages to Greece and Cyprus, while Kathimerini states that their debts to Greek accommodation providers – mainly in Crete – could be as high as nine million euros.
