Green benchmarkers and hoteliers get together
Considerate hoteliers and Earthcheck form alliance
Considerate Hoteliers (CH), the UK’s longest established association of responsible hoteliers with a current membership of over 270 hotels worldwide has announced a strategic partnership with EarthCheck, the sustainability accreditation organization.
The EarthCheck Programme is considered to be one of the world’s most credible environmental benchmarking and certification programme for the travel and tourism industry.
Stewart Moore, CEO of EC3 Global and the EarthCheck Programme, said the business alliance with Considerate Hoteliers reinforces EarthCheck’s commitment to delivering the highest level of services to its members.
"CH has a long history of working with hotel operators in the United Kingdom to support them with business development and advice on operational systems and processes including sustainability and CSR." said Mr Moore.
"In return EarthCheck is looking forward to offering CH members access to resources, case studies and fact sheets on how to reduce costs, improve operational efficiency and minimise risk exposure. CH members are also invited to join the EarthCheck Programme . The programme’s scientific-based reporting platform and third-party auditing process is used by over 1300 members world-wide and is internationally recognised as providing accurate and transparent intelligence for the travel and tourism industry." added Mr Moore.
CH’s Executive Director John Firrell MIH strongly supported Stewart Moore’s comments, adding, "Much of what can be achieved by hotels who wish to be both considerate and sustainable does not rely on international borders. With this new alliance we at CH will not only help our UK hotels further their efforts but will also support our new and ever growing number of international members "
