Grenada names new tourism minister
After a Cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell, Grenada has announced Yolande Bain-Horsford as new tourism minister.
Bain-Horsford takes over from Alexandra Otway-Noel who oversaw the ‘Pure Grenada’ tourism rebrand in 2014.
Alexandra Otway-Noel has capably and energetically shaped the Tourism and Civil Aviation in the last two years," Mitchell said.
"Tourism is on the rise, with all the industry’s numbers heading in the right direction. We have a new governing authority and a new marketing approach and the foundation has been truly laid for even more growth and development in the future."
Otway-Noel will now serve in a new role as ‘full minister in the Prime Minister’s office.’
Caribbean Tourism Organization data shows Grenada has achieved one of the region’s highest growth rates in tourist arrivals.
The Pure Grenada campaign has focused its activities on promoting niche markets include scuba diving, yachting, culture and adventure tourism.
