Grey gap years top the list
More pensioners are looking to explore the world than ever before putting grey gap years top of the list.
According to research by NEST (National Employment Savings Trust), travelling comes higher up the wish list than new hobbies and dining out for those retiring from work.
The YouGov poll of around 2,000 working-age adults who haven’t yet retired found that 62% wanted to go travelling or on multiple holidays when they stop working while 49% want to relax at home and 45% want to take up a hobby.
Matthew Blakstad, head of member policy at NEST, said: "Future retirees are setting their sights on living life to the full. It’s fantastic that people are planning to carry on enjoying the things they love doing today in later life."
