Talk about a unique event.

When the Norwegian Getaway makes her maiden transatlantic voyage in January, everyone on board will be the guest of a private company that has chartered the entire ship.

Norwegian spokesperson AnneMarie Mathews said the company is "excited about the charter" but declined further comment about who the customer is or how much it paid to give its group free rein.

"Yes, we are excited about the charter, but unfortunately, we cannot yet reveal the company that has chartered the ship," Mathews told TravelMole.

Norwegian has canceled the inaugural cruise scheduled to depart from Miami on February 1; the charter cruise will take place in January, and head to New York instead.
