Groupize updates group booking platform
Online group booking platform Groupize has launched its long awaited ‘Instant Book’ tool for desktop and ‘Groupize Hub’ which allows group leaders to book and manage group reservations in real-time on hotel websites from their mobile devices.
"The industry has been skeptical about the viability to automate group hotel bookings due to high profile failures in the late 2000’s," said Charles de Gaspe Beaubien, CEO of Groupize Solutions.
"As of today, the question is no longer can it be done, but how long can a hotel remain competitive if they ignore the cries of online organizers and millennials that are demanding this convenience."
The Groupize platform allows hotels and group organizers to interact more effectively by automating functions like instant group rates and inventory, individual payments, name changes, cancellations, and upgrades.
The company says its automated approach does away with the inefficiencies and downtime of seeking requests for proposals at individual hotels.
The company’s Group Booking Engine can be customized to a hotel’s brand displaying real time group pricing and inventory.
The ‘business rules’ function lets individual hotels control the number of rooms available for sale, group booking policies and dynamic pricing.
In a similar fashion to many event planning apps, Groupize Hub offers organizers a private webpage to communicate and share information about group bookings.
It also provides options for online payment by master or individual members of the group, the ability to make online modifications, and two-way integration to central reservation systems.
Groupize says existing clients The Lenox Hotel and Denihan Hospitality will become the first to integrate the automated booking functionality on their websites this month.
