Gutsy Women are looking towards education

Friday, 24 Jan, 2008 0

Gutsy Women Travel is targeting the education market with trips to international and US destinations that take place over school vacation breaks, according to officials.

The company has a particular interest in the market because April Merenda, Gusty Women Travel’s president and co-founder, is an adjunct professor at St. John’s University in Queens, N.Y.

“According to Ms Merenda, the company tries to offer at least one departure for each trip over the winter and spring breaks and summer months so educators and faculty have the opportunity to take them,” the company says.

Gutsy Women also makes its US and Canadian trips shorter in length, so they can be taken as quick getaways.

Gutsy Women Travel offerings include a 10-day Wine & Wonders of Argentina & Chile; a nine-day Taste of Sicily; an eight-day Paradise in Provence; a 10-day Magical Morocco; a 9-day Amalfi Coast Discovery; and the 11-day Charms of China with a three-day Cruise, among others.

For winter break a selection of holiday tours are available, from a traditional Dickensian Christmas in Pennsylvania to the excitement and lights in New York City to shopping tours.
