Holland America Line is making its online training available to UK agents.
The HAL Academy Training Curriculum is available to agents who are members of the Association of Cruise Experts via www.cruiseexperts.org .
Agents who complete the training modules and have received a graduation certificate from HAL receive an extra five points towards ACE accreditation and Ambassador status.
Graduates receive a signed certificate with their name on it and a $50 shipboard credit for any time they sail on a ‘Travel Agent Appreciation’ fare.
HAL Academy offers an educational programme designed to provide agents with the necessary tools and sales techniques to achieve greater sales success.
The programme is divided into six core courses with 20 lessons and two new advanced courses with 10 lessons. Utilising video and interactive technology, the training is conducted completely online.
Subjects covered include an introduction to premium cruising, a sales primer, identifying HAL and cruise prospects, an overview of destinations and available sales support. Two advanced strategy courses focus on building groups and writing a marketing plan.
Managing director UK business Lynn Narraway said:“This is a fantastic new tool for agents to grow their cruise business and build their knowledge of Holland America Line.
“Especially in these times it’s important for agents to take advantage of every training opportunity available.
“HAL Academy is already highly acclaimed in the USA – it’s easy, it’s full of selling tips and strategies, and just as importantly, it’s free.”
