HAL’s Oosterdam returns to service after drydock
Holland America Line ship Oosterdam has taken to the water again following a two-week dry dock refurbishment in the Bahamas.
The 1,964-guest ship departed Fort Lauderdale as it repositions for a Mediterranean season.
During its dry dock, a range of enhancements took place, including interior design upgrades to several public areas.
It includes a new Effy jewellery retail space and an expanded casino.
Various public areas received new furniture and additional upgrades were made to the Crow’s Nest bar and lounge; Greenhouse Spa & Salon; the Photo Gallery and Photo Studio; and the suite-exclusive Neptune Lounge.
Select in-stateroom bathrooms received full renovations and several balcony staterooms have new deck furniture.
The Rolling Stone Lounge was fully upgraded with an enhanced bar and new carpet, furnishings, LED lighting and flooring.
Also, the Lido Market received a refresh with new seating upholstery, while Greenhouse Spa & Salon now features a new sauna and a new couple’s massage therapy room.
Oosterdam will spend the next seven months sailing the Mediterranean, visiting ports in countries such as Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Egypt.
It then crosses the Atlantic Ocean in November, returning to South America and Antarctica.
