Ham steps into Elite role
Former Worldchoice senior commercial manager Nigel Ham is to replace Paul Cowley as general manager of Elite Travel Group.
He is due to join the consortium on August 6, moving from Dertour where he was national sales manager.
Ham formerly headed the commercial department at rival independent agency group Worldchoice before moving to now defunct Travelscene.
He is taking over from Cowley who left the role due to personal reasons (see previous TravelMole story).
Elite chairman Neil Basnett said: “We had several candidates who either expressed their continued interest in the position or an interest for the first time.
“This meant that we were fortunate in having a choice of good applicants with an extensive range of career backgrounds in each of which they had encountered a variety of challenges.
“Most crucially and relevantly for Elite, was his experience and success as senior commercial manager for Worldchoice in Peterborough where he headed the commercial department for four years”.
