Hannover Fairs to host GITF 2008
GUANGZHOU – Hannover Fairs will partner Guangdong Provincial Tourism Department and Guangzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau to formally host the annual Guangzhou International Travel Fair.
A Hannover Fairs’ wholly owned company in China would work with its parent company to host GITF from 2008 to 2017.
Zhu Li, director of the Guangzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau, welcomed Hannover Fairs’ long experience in holding exhibitions and its extensive global sales network.
It would help to create one of the largest and highest-class exhibitions in South China, Li said.
Fu Yu, general manager of Hannover Fairs China Ltd, said that as one of the earliest and longest running travel exhibitions in China, GITF was an ideal option for Hannover to expand the South China market.
GITF was established in 1995 and has become one of the most comprehensive travel fairs in China and one of the most important annual travel meetings in the Asia Pacific region.
GITF 2007 attracted more than 600 exhibitors – 40 per cent of them from overseas.
GITF 2008 will be held at Guangzhou Jinhan Exhibition Center on April 4-6, 2008.
Earlier his year, Messe Berlin announced that it was taking the plunge and re-launching ITB Asia in Singapore.
ITB Asia will be held at Suntec City on October 22-24, 2008.
Singapore was chosen after extensive research with Messe Berlin evaluating Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau and Bangkok as possible sites
