Harriet Green brings in exec from her old company
Thomas Cook’s senior management team has undergone another reshuffle under the leadership of Group CEO Harriet Green
Reto Wilhelm, currently managing director of the Group’s West/East region, has been promoted to lead the UK business.
Thomas Cook said he will also "continue to drive the turnaround of the Group’s French operation".
"His work in Thomas Cook will be important as the Group continues to professionalise its UK operation and transform the business to deliver consistent, profitable, sustainable growth," it said in a statement.
Salman Syed has been appointed from outside the Group to replace Wilhelm as MD West/East.
Syed has worked for major companies across Europe, North America and Asia, including Arrow Electronics and Premier Farnell, where Green was chief executive before she joined Thomas Cook.
Syed joins the business in early December.
Peter Fankhauser, currently CEO for Thomas Cook UK and Continental Europe, has been given the newly-created position of Group chief operating officer, reporting to Green.
"I am pleased to announce the completion of my Executive Committee, another step on our journey to further professionalise the Group, break down regional silos and realign leadership responsibilities to accelerate the delivery of our strategy for sustainable profitable growth," said Green.
