Harriet Green turns down chair of major retail chain
Former Thomas Cook boss Harriet Green has turned down the chance to run high street chain BhS, which is being sold by British tycoon Sir Philip Green.
A spokesman for Ms Green, who suddenly departed from her post asThomas Cook chief executive last November, only two years into what she had described as a six-year turnaround plan, confirmed she had been approached about the role of chairman of BhS.
However, she told Sky News that Ms Green had decided not to accept the job.
Retail Acquisitions, which is acquiring the chain from Top Shop boss Sir Philip, is understood to be talking to other candidates about the role.
