Harwood promoted to drive market share growth
Nick Harwood has been promoted to the newly created role of UK sales and marketing director for Europcar and National Car Rental.
The role has been created following the Europcar group’s acquisition of the business operating the National Car Rental brand.
Harwood takes on overall responsibility for UK sales and marketing in the corporate and leisure sectors and a range of other roles have also been confirmed.
Lorraine Farnon becomes sales director for National with responsibility for the brand’s corporate sales activity; David McNeill is corporate sales director for Europcar; Yvonne Young is international leisure sales manager for Europcar and Rebecca Madden is corporate marketing director for both brands.
There remains a vacancy for a consumer marketing director to raise awareness and sales for both the Europcar and National brands.
Managing director John Leigh described Harwood’s promotion as: “a significant appointment for our business”.
He said: “Nick not only has considerable knowledge of the vehicle rental marketplace but he understands the way our business works and has made an enormous contribution to our growth and success to date.
“This knowledge and experience will be crucial in extending our market share of nearly 30% even further, growing our penetration across all sectors.”
